The Israeli Airport Authority announced a record breaking number of passengers in Ben Gurion airport since 2008 with the arrival in November of the 11 071 001 passenger. In 2010 the number of passengers increased – 11.5 million passengers – an increase of 4.5% over the previous record in 2008.
A few weeks ago Israel welcomed the 3 millionth tourist in 2010 – in itself a record for tourist arrivals.
Israel Airports Authority expressed satisfaction. Kobi Mor CEO said: “Along with the major growth in passenger traffic and planes IAA promotes large safety projects including a project to upgrade the runways which will cost 760 million NIS and started this year.
“IAA will continue to promote projects along with positioning of Ben – Gurion as one of the airports with the highest level of security and service in the world.”
