This morning there was a partial solar eclipse that was visible in Israel. The eclipse was observable in much of northern Europe and parts of Africa and Asia (although poor weather impacted parts of Europe.) We were more fortunate – although we are expecting more wintry weather the heavy clouds held off and the eclipse was easily visible here in Jerusalem.
The peak was as 10:41 in Jerusalem and covered around 46% of the sun.
According to NASA the next partial eclipse observable in Jerusalem will not be until November 2013.
