Israel Rain Update – Sunday Feb 20 – Great weekend – dry and clear. Sunday started with terrible dust haze, but this was washed away in fine style with a lot of rain, hail, thunder and lightning. More on the way (we hope)!
Israel Rain Update – Wednesday Feb 16 – After a few fine days the wind and most importantly the rain is back! Reports say there are flood warnings in effect in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and other areas. Drive carefully but enjoy nature! Next storm due late on Saturday/Shabbat.
Israel Rain Update – Monday Feb 7 – Time for another rain update. There was plenty of rain around this last weekend. A brief sunny interlude and then today the rain and even some hail returned today. The Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) level rose over 8cm over the weekend (in contrast to a dire 15cm in the whole of January) The forecast for the next few days is wet – so it looks like we are in for some real winter. Keep it coming!!
Israel Rain Update – Tuesday Feb 1 – Another glorious day of rain. We are not sure if it is coincidental, but perhaps the rain has helped to reveal some of the first signs of spring.
Israel Rain Update – Monday Jan 31 – Finally, – a little taste of winter. It is now raining in Israel for the third consecutive day. The forecast is for more rain over the next 24 hours or so – and long may it continue! It should have a positive impact on the level of the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) in the next few days.
We understand that Road 90 is closed in the Ein Gedi region due to flooding – here is a photo from a previous rain system.
