The 2011 Under 20 European Beach Volleyball Championships took place at Tel-Aviv's popular Gordon Beach - 27-30 July 2011
Spectators enjoyed some of the world’s best players at the 2011 Under 20 European Beach Volleyball Championships right here in Tel Aviv.
Gordon Beach in Tel-Aviv was been turned into a complex of beach volleyball courts with a center court that could hold up to 1000 people. It was truly a sport carnival with food courts, drinks (beer to take care of the summer heat), music and beach volleyball. The center court was full with supporters for the prime time game between the male Israeli team and the French team.
The European Beach Volleyball Championships featuresd the leading 24 women’s and 24 men’s beach volleyball teams from 30 different countries across Europe. The leading women’s beach volleyball teams were from Germany, Poland, Russia, Netherlands and Italy. Whilst the top men’s teams were from Poland, Ukraine, Denmark, Russia and Germany.
2011 Under 20 European Beach Volleyball Championships - Match Timetable
The matches were played from 9:30 in the morning to 22:00 at night starting from July 27th.
The semi-finals started at 13:00 on Saturday (July 30) and the finals started at 18:00 of the same day.
2011 Under 20 European Beach Volleyball Championships - Results
The center court was full with supporters for the final games: Poland vs. Latvia in for the men championship and Austria vs. Russia for the women championship.
The Polish team won the European Beach Volleyball Championships after beating the Latvians by 2:0. The women Austrian team overcame the favorite Russian team and won 2:0.
