“After the rain the desert blooms….”
Almost every winter time tourist has heard that declaration from their guide, friends and family. Often the visitor stares at the endless desert scenery punctuated here and there with the odd green shrub and nods in agreement. This winter has brought some impressive rainfall and the rain has wakened the desert and made it really bloom in places. Other regions are still very arid with a healthier sprinkling of green.
These photos were taken towards the northern extremes of the desert area of the Jordan Rift Valley along Route 90 (at around kilometer post 352) south of Bet Shean.
