Ideas of things to do in Jerusalem when it is the children who are wailing...  and not the wall

Children of all ages (0-100) can get fed up of endless touring and can get ratty when the temperatures sore into the 90's and beyond. Fortunately Jerusalem and its environs have loads of things to do that will suit all ages. In many cases they are close to or can be combined with some of the popular must see spots. For ideas see Jerusalem with Children.

The zoo or to give it its official name Jerusalem Biblical Zoo is indisputably one of Jerusalem's gems; perhaps not least because of its strict anti-mangal (anti-barbecue)  and anti-bike policy (picnics welcome). Jerusalem Biblical Zoo

Entry fees are currently 46NIS per person (36NIS for individuals in groups), If you are planning at least three visits over a year, then membership is an option. (Save time and  bring passport photos foreveryone over 3 years old.)

Jerusalem Open Spaces

Park near the King David HotelIf you are looking for large spaces to run around and let off steam in Jerusalem then there are some good options available. One of my favourites is the stretch behind the King David Hotel (running from the French Consulate past the Monetfiore Windmill down to the Begin Centre.) It has a shady area under some tall trees and some of the most spectacular viewpoints over the Old City.
